Fresh Cinnamon Rolls

Hello guys and I am back with another delicious recipe! I will be sharing with you the only cinnamon bun recipe you will ever need! These cinnamon rolls are incredibly soft and fluffy and ready in just 45 minutes. The dough is made completely from scratch and rises super fast using just your microwave :) isn't that amazing?

You basically make the dough, rise using the microwave for just a couple of minutes then roll and cut the cinnamon rolls and are then ready for baking... Yep, that’s pretty much it!


The result is soft and fluffy cinnamon rolls that are out of this world. Top with my easy glaze and enjoy these warm rolls right out of the oven!

Prep time: 30 minutes
Cook time: 20 minutes

Ingredients
For the dough:
1 1/4 cups milk hot milk
2 1/4 teaspoons instant dry yeast
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1/4 cup melted butter
3 - 4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
For the filling:
4 tablespoons melted butter
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
For the glaze:
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 cup icing sugar
3 tablespoons milk/coffee
1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Procedure:
For the dough, in a small bowl, dissolve yeast in a 1/4 cup of the hot milk and set aside.
In a large bowl mix milk, sugar, melted butter, salt and egg. Add the flour and mix until smooth. Add the yeast mixture and mix until dough is easy to handle.
Knead dough on lightly floured surface for 5 minutes. Place in a bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and set aside. (Set aside the dough in a warm place for 2 hours if you decide not use the microwave to rise it).

To quickly rise the dough,
Place a cup of hot water into the microwave and heat on high for 3 minutes to moisten the oven.
Remove the mug and place the bowl with the dough into the microwave and heat on it's lowest setting for 3 minutes.
Then let the dough rest in the microwave for 3 minutes.
Heat the dough (still on it's lowest setting) for another 3 minutes then let the dough rest in the microwave for 5 minutes.
For the filling, after the dough has rested, roll it out in a 15x9 inch rectangle. Spread the softened butter on top. Mix together the cinnamon and sugars and sprinkle it all over the dough. Roll up the dough tightly and cut into 9 even pieces. Place in a greased square baking tray.
Preheat oven to 180 degrees C for 10 minutes.
Bake the cinnamon rolls for 15-20 minutes or until golden and remove from oven.
For the glaze, mix the butter, powdered sugar, vanilla and milk/coffee together until smooth and lump free. Drizzle over warm rolls.
